Fussy Eaters: 2,000 parents have their say on food waste
We questioned 2,000 parents about food waste and here is what they had to say.
We conducted a national survey of 2,000 parents, which has found the top foods children refuse to eat which foods are most likely to end up in the bin.
The survey found that on average parents serve 1,460 evening meals to their family of 4 each year. With a quarter of each platefull being left uneaten, 394 meals are needlessly thrown away.
Fussy eaters, snacking before mealtimes and poor appetites are the main contributors to household food waste, according to the pool of 2,000 parents. 45% of parents said their children were fussy eaters and a staggering 78% said their child had turned down a meal - despite happily eating it in the past!
